Rosetta Earll Putnam
Rosetta Earll Putnam was born in Jackson, Michigan, on April 30, 1860, the daughter of Alexander and Cynthia Earll. She was married to Charles H. Sabin in Oswego, New York in 1876. He was killed in an accident on a boat. To this union one child was born: Charles H. Sabin.
She then moved with her parents to Atlantic, Iowa, where she married William A. Putnam, Jan. 26th, 1880. To this union were born seven children, four of whom passed away in infancy.
Left to mourn her loss are three sons: Charles H. Sabin of Gothenbug, Frank A. Putnam of Blackfoot, Idaho, and William E. Putnam of Valparaiso, Neb.; and one daughter, Mrs. Rosetta Dodd of Gothenburg; one sister, Mrs. Della Smith, and one brother, John Earll, both of Gothenburg; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Some years ago she had joined the Methodist church, although of late years she was unable to attend church thru poor health, she was faithful to her trust.
Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Rosetta Dodd, in charge of Olesen Mortuary, to Banner Methodist church, Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 20th, in charge of the paster, Rev. Mearl C. Smith. Mrs. Herbert Olson and Mrs. John Kaufman sang several numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Walter Trimble. Pallbearers were Frank Anderson, Dan Colvin, Emmet Bean, Mike Calmer, George Golden and Nelson Haynes. Interment was in Peckham cemetery.
