OBITUARY

Daniel H. Dovenbarger was born at Charleston, West Virginia, January 1, 1865. He died at Gothenburg, Nebraska, 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 1938. While he had not been well for some time, he had continued active until a few days before his death. His passing was sudden and came as a surprise to his family and others who knew him.

He came to Nebraska sixty years ago as a boy 13 years old. He was married October 3, 1894, to Miss Maria Lind. They settled in the vicinity of Brady, Nebraska, in which community he has since lived. Five children were born to them. Two sons died in infancy. A daughter also died, Dec. 22, 1918. The wife and mother also preceded him in death.

Surviving him are the two remaining children: a son, Daniel C. Dovenbarger, of Ingham, Nebraska, and a daughter, Mrs. John W. Parkhurst, of Brady, Nebraska; three sisters: Mrs. Jennie McCoy, of Missouri; Mrs. Susan Graham, of York, Nebraska, and Mrs. S. C. Miller, of Kearney, Nebraska. There are also five grandchildren.

With the exception of a short time when he was in business in Brady, Mr. Dovenbarger engaged in farming; throughout his lifetime.

Funeral services were from the M. E. Church, Sunday, March 20, at 2:30 p.m., with Reverend Gile V. Wilson, officiating. Interment was made in Gaslin cemetery. Music furnished by a mixed quartet, Mr. Frank Smith, tenor; Mrs. Frank Smith, soprano, Mrs. Rauley Camblin, alto, and Rev. G. V. Wilson, bass. Accompanist, Doris Blede.
