Death of C. H. Smith
Charles Henry Smith, a pioneer settler in this vicinity, died at his home on the south side on Monday, June 17, aged 87 years, 1 month and 13 days.
Mr. Smith was born in New York. For many years he was a sailor and served three years in the U. S. Navy. In the early pioneer days he came to Nebraska, and settled on a homestead southwest of the city in Lincoln county. For the past fourteen years he has resided on the Wm. McNett farm. Mr. Smith’s wife survives him. An only daughter, Mrs. Wm. McNett, died in 1916.
Funeral services were held at Banner M. E. church Tuesday of last week, conducted by Rev. Arthur Atack. Interment was made in Peckham cemetery.
