Isaac Putnam

Isaac Putnam was born in the state of Indiana, Dec. 8, 1862, and departed this life Feb. 7, 1935, at the home of his son in Gothenburg.

In 1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Carey, of St. Joseph, Mo. To this union were born five children, three of whom preceded him in death: Rose, Lawrence, Ernest. In his youth, Mr. Putnam confessed conversion to Christ, and was a regular attendant of the Baptist church.

In the year 1889 he came to Lincoln county, where he has since resided. His wife passed away in 1924.

Those who remain to mourn his loss are two sons, Sherman Putnam of the South Side, and Ralph Putnam of Gothenburg, eight grandchildren, one brother, William Putnam, of Gothenburg. His father, mother, four brothers and two sisters have gone on.

The funeral was held at the Banner church at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, Rev. Oscar Jacobson officiating. A ladies’ quartet, composed of Mesdames Erie Nelson, Roy Gingrich, the Misses Gladys Bellstrom and Margaret Jenkins, with Miss Irene Burtchard at the piano, sang several selections. Interment was made in the Peckham cemetery.
