Thomas Masteller, 90, Passed Away At Omaha Hospital
Thomas H. Masteller, 90, former Gothenburg resident, passed away Sunday, January 8th, in Omaha hospital, following a lingering illness.
He moved to Omaha five years ago following the death of Mrs. Masteller, on November 3, 1950.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Schaumann of Omaha; one step-son, Oren Willis of North Platte; 6 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Carrie Lock of Stanton, Nebr.
Mr. Masteller was born in Catawassie, Pennsylvania, on May 18, 1865.
Funeral services were held in Omaha Tuesday afternoon, under auspices of Park City Lodge 606, I.O.O.F., of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Services were held in Gothenburg Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11th at the Olesen Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Lawrence W. Bratt officiating. Mrs. Frank Schwanz sang “Rock of Ages” and “Jesus Lover of My Soul,” with Mrs. Hiddie Kuhlman accompanying her at the organ. Serving as pallbearers were six nephews: Morris Devine, Wayne Devine, Dale Devine, Gilbert Devine, Leonard Hilton and Orville Hilton. Burial in the Gothenburg cemetery, with the Gothenburg Lodge No. 201 in charge of Odd Fellow rituals.
