Mrs. Anna Dale Shipton was born August 2, 1840 at Woodhouse, near Sheffield, England, and died in Chelan Dec. 26, 1921, being aged 81 years.

She came to the US with two brothers and a sister in the early 70’s and resided in Illinois. In 1887 she moved to Nebraska and resided there until 1916, when she came to Chelan. Her husband died in 1899 and two of the eight children born to her also preceded her in death.

To mourn her loss are four daughters, and two sons. Miss Kate Shipton, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Doty, Mrs. Foote, Mr. Shipton, all of Chelan and Mr. Tom Shipton of Nebraska; also one brother and a sister; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
