Enoch Marsh
Obituary
Enoch W. Marsh, son of Lorenzo Dowe and Hannah Marsh, was born near Marion, Ind., October 8, 1846 and died December 18, 1919 at his home near Lewis, Iowa, at the age of 73 years 2 months and 10 days. In 1860 with his parents he came to Cass Co., Iowa, and settled on a farm near Lewis. In 1885 the family moved to Nebraska and returned to this state only a few years ago.
On April 28, 1875 he was united in marriage to Katherine Underwood to which union were born two sons and two daughters. One daughter died in infancy and one son, Willis, died at the age of 13. Mrs. Marsh passed away May 30th, 1915.
He was one of a family of ten children, seven boys and three girls. Two brothers, William of Parnell, Mo., and L. D. of Lewis, Iowa, and a sister Mrs. Evaline Mardin of Robinson, Kans., survive him.
Many years ago he made a profession of faith in Christ as his Savior, and united with the Church of Christ at Curtis, Nebraska.
Besides his brothers and sister there remain to mourn his departure one son, Jesse of Lewis, Iowa, a daughter, Mrs. Laura Hunt of Burke, S.D., five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a wide circle of friends and acquaintencances.
