The death of Jonathan Fisher occurred on Thursday of last week at his home in the Gueydan neighborhood. The deceased was a highly respected citizen and was fifty-seven years of age. He was the eldest son of John Fisher, one of the old settlers of the section in which he lived. The funeral took place on Saturday, the services being conducted in the Methodist church at Lake Arthur. The remains were laid away in the Lake Arthur cemetery beside his wife, who preceded him to the unknown beyond. The family and relatives have the sympathy of friends in their sorrow.
