Obituary.
Henry Miller, M. D. born March 4, 1833 in Indiana, died at his home in Morland, Kansas, Aug. 8, 1906. In his boyhood the doctor received a good education and had just graduated in medicine when the Civil war broke out. He immediately enlisted, and the surgeon becoming wounded, Dr. Miller was given the position which place he occupied during the remainder of the war. Upon being discharged he began practicing and has been so engaged until his death. Some years ago he discovered a very successful treatment of cancers and has taken out hundreds of them from sufferers since. This discovery alone might have made him a rich man if he had charged even an ordinary fee, but with him life meant not to accumulate but to help the suffering people. His generosity without limit and in all his practice he scarcely received more than small wages. He has been married four times and is the father of 17 children, ten of whom with his last wife survive him. He was for years a member of the United Brethren Church, but has of late years attended and supported the M. E. Church at Moreland, not having a Church here of his faith. He was one of the most kind and loving husband and father and perhaps no man in the county can number so many sincere friends as he, for he truly lived for others. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church and a large crowd of friends and relatives came to pay the last respects to this departed friend. Rev. A. T. Mitchell assisted the pastor in the funeral services. Morland Advance.
