Benjamin F. Sherwood

Funeral services for Benjamin F. Sherwood, 73, oldest policeman on the Portland force, who died Tuesday morning after several months’ illness, will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, at the A. J. Rose & Son chapel. Burial will be made in the family plot in the Rose City cemetery.

Fellow policemen who will serve as pallbearers, are Sergeants Frank W. Huntington and Albert E. Mass and Patrolmen M. M. Rudolph, Henry C. Bales, A. O. Amundson and H. S. Raney.

Besides his widow, Harriet, Mr. Sherwood is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rose Horning, and three granchildren. A son, Lieutenant Robert A. Sherwood of the army medical corps, was killed in action in France, on September 17, 1918.—Portland, Ore., Journal.

Mr. Sherwood was county judge of Furnas county, Nebraska, many years ago, and will be remembered by many old-timers here.
