Thomas Jefferson Collister was born at Brimfield, Peoria county, Ill., September 25, 1860 where he resided with his parents until 1868 when they moved to Grundy county, Ill., moving to Gage county, Nebraska in 1878. In June 1885 he was married to Emma Rebecca Kinzie. To this union was born six children who are all living and were all home to attend the funeral. They are: Jess of Omaha, Mrs. Howard Seymour of Lincoln; Burt, who is now working at Havelock; Harry, in the field artillery service at Camp Lewis, American Lake, Wash.; Mrs. Ray Spencer of Talmage, Nebr.; and Victor who is at home.

The same year of his marriage Mr. Collister moved to Eustis, Frontier county, Nebr., onto a homestead where the family endured the hardships of frontier life until 1909 when they moved to Weeping Water where they have since resided.

Mr. Collister leaves to mourn his loss, besides the almost prostrated widow and the six children, four grandchildren: Keith Neville Spencer, Maxine and Margaret Collister and little Arthur who has lived with his grandparents the past six years; also three brothers: Robert of Bertrand, Nebr.; William of Fairbury, Nebr.; James, of DeWitt, Nebr., and one sister Mrs. Ben Berge of Lynn, Kan. All three brothers and their wives were present to attend the funeral. The sister was unable to come.

Other relatives who attended the funeral were: Wm. Kinzie of DeWitt, Nebr., a brotherof Mrs. Collister, the son-in-law Ray Spencer, of Talmage, the daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jesse Collister, and two children of Omaha, and a life long friend, George Randall of Cambridge.

Pall bearers were chosen from the Modern Woodman of which he was a member. The order attended the funeral in a body. It was very largely attended.
