Henry S. Morton was born in Taylor county, Iowa, March 31st, 1858. He homesteaded in Rooks county, Kans.

He came to Frontier county, Nebraska, in the fall of 1884 and preempted the land on which he has since made his home.

He was married to Anna Hinkhouse, November 4, 1884. To this union was born one son, Delby J.

After four years of illness he departed this life May 18, 1927, aged 69 years, one month, 18 days. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted wife and son and family; one sister, Mrs. Will Parks of Edmond, Kans.; three brothers, Shelby C. of Simpson, Colo., Monson of Scottsbluff, Nebr., and James of Lebanon, Kansas, and a host of other relatives and friends, who will greatly miss this kind friend and respected neighbor.

The funeral service was conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church Saturday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m. W. C. Kelly the pastor officiating and preaching the sermon.
