M. P. Hiddleson
Rites Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Milton P. Hiddleson of Grand Island were held Tuesday afternoon at the Geddes funeral home by the Rev. W. H. Holverson, pastor of the First Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. T. H. Kampman, pastor of the Salem Evangelical and United Brethren Church.

Milton Veeder, accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Lee Veeder, sang, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and the classic solo of “Face to Face.”

Pallbearers were Wm. Heupel, Opie Hicks, Dean Veeder, D. J. Brazleton, Frank W. Black and Louis Holmes with burial in the Grand Island cemetery.

Out of town attendants at the services were Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Goettsche and family, Hastings; Miss Byrdee Needham and Miss Blanche Knisley of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Winchell, Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Irl Plant and family, Loup City; Mrs. Bertha Johnson and O. R. Stevens, Rippey, Iowa; Mrs. John Knisley and H. C. Stange and sons of Cairo; and Mrs. Theodore Houghmam, Gibbon.

Mr. Hiddleson was born on March 20, 1865 in Lycoming Co., Pa. and moved with his family to Rippey, Iowa while a child. On December 16, 1886, he was married to Cora E. Miller at Rippey.

In 1887 Mr. and Mrs. Hiddleson homesteaded near Eustis, Nebraska returning to Rippey, Iowa in 1894. In 1909 they came to Hall County, where they have since resided, living on a farm until 1920, when they moved to Grand Island.

Mr. and Mrs. Hiddleson observed their 60th wedding anniversary on December 16th.

Mr. Hiddleson was a member of the Christian church at Rippey.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Wayne, Grand Island; three daughters, Mrs. E. G. Roseberry, Grand Island; Mrs. Harry Stange, Cairo and Mrs. R. A. Goettsche, Hastings; nine grandchildren, and other relatives. An infant son preceded him in death.
