Obituary of Robert R. Lawrence of Moorefield
Robert Ransom Lawrence was born at Geneva, Nebraska, Fillmore county; March 26, 1875 and died at Moorefield, Nebraska, June 11, 1929, aged 54 years, 2 months and 15 days.
At the age of nineteen deceased came to Frontier county, Nebraska, and has made his home here almost continually since that time.
He was united in marriage to Anna May Hill, December 2, 1896.
His father and mother and four sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. He leaves his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Cal Fox, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Will Cheney of North Platte, Nebraska, and one brother, Emmer Lawrence of Moorefield. Besides these he leaves many other relatives and a host of friends.
Robert was converted in a revival meeting and became a member of the Union church of Moorefield soon after the organization in 1920 and has been one of the most influential members and promotion of the church ever since.
He was a devoted husband and hard worker and a consistent Christian.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. E. Howard of Hastings, in the Union church at Moorefield. Rev. Howard used Rev. 14:13 at the text and as a personal friend and former pastor spoke of the good works which follow a life like that which Robert Lawrence had lived.
Relatives and friends from many places in this section of the state attended the funeral. Many commented that it was the largest funeral they ever attended.
Interment wa made in the Moorefield cemetery.
