Alonzo L. Seavey
Alonzo L. Seavey was born in New Hampshire July 25, 1850, departed this life May 17, 1925, aged 74 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
When a small child, he moved with his parents to the state of Iowa where he later married Miss Emma Ede who died November 19, 1916. To this union was born seven children, Mrs. Effie Grandstaff of this city, Mrs. Lenora Fletcher of Tulare, California, Miss Nina Seavey who departed this life December 3, 1893, Mrs. Edith Davis of Moorefield, Nebraska, Hial R. Seavey of Central City, Nebraska, Mrs. Ethyl Hicks of Clarinda, Iowa, and Mrs. Emma Lawrence of this city. Later he moved to North Platte where he was married to Mrs. Susan Bunting who survives him. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, six children, twenty grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In early life he was united with the Wesleyan Methodist church and later he gave part of his time to the ministry in that and other churches. About seven years ago Mr. Seavey moved to North Platte and has resided here till death.
Alonzo passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Lawrence at 10 o’clock Monday night. Death was caused by a paralytic stroke which he received on May 6th. Funeral services were held at the Maloney Chapel Tuesday afternoon, May 19th at 2:30 o’clock, with Ensign Moyer of the Salvation Army in charge. Interment was made at the local cemetery.
