Delos Austin Hill
Delos Austin Hill, eldest child of Albert and Elizabeth Hill, was born at Herman, Nebraska on October 18, 1875, and departed this life in the St. Mary’s hospital at North Platte, Nebr. on March 29, 1953 at the age of 77 years, five months and 11 days.
He came with his parents to Frontier county in his early manhood. They lived near Cambridge, Nebr. until the spring of 1889 when the family located on the Circle Bar Ranch north of Moorefield in Lincoln county. Here he made his home.
He lived in Lincoln county until the death of his brother-in-law, Robert Lawrence, when he made his home with his sister Anna in Moorefield until her death in 1951. Since then, he has lived alone. Two other sisters have preceded him in death in the past three months.
He leaves to mourn his passing five sisters, Etta Rishel of Elm Creek; Myrtle of Altha, Florida; Stella and Gertrude Hill and Arta Hammans of Kearney; two brothers, Bert and Tommy of Moorefield, and five nephews, and a host of friends.
He had lived in the Moorefield community for 65 years.
Funeral services were held at the Moorefield Union church April 1 with the Rev. Allan W. Martin officiating. Burial was in the Moorefield cemetery.
