Daniel Baugh
Daniel Baugh, 84, a native of England but a resident of Thurston for more than 40 years, died Wednesday at his home. He was born near Sheffield, England, Sept. 18, 1859, coming to the United States when eight years old. With his parents, he made his home in Nebraska, and was married there to Reta Stansbie, in January, 1881. The couple came to Oregon, and to Thurston, in 1902. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1931.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Zora M. Culver of Eugene, and a son, Ramon C. Baugh of Thurston; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Storts, Mrs. Esther Hunter, Mrs. Lily Storts and Mrs. Fannie Berry, all living in Wyoming.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Phil Bartholomew chapel in Springfield, with Rev. Harry Denton officiating, and interment will be in the Mount Vernon cemetery.
