Funeral Rites For
Edw. W. Brace
Held Saturday

Services were conducted in the Hope Congregational church Saturday afternoon for Mr. E. W. Brace who passed away May 27. The Rev. Wilson Johnstone, Wahpeton, conducted the services and music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mesdames G. D. Fisher and E. L. Byer and Messers. H. C. Anderson and L. J. Bowen. Mrs. Chandler presided at the organ. The pall bearers were W. M. Bowen, C. F. Carlson, Obert Germundson, Oscar Wennerstrom, Eli Hickman and Vernon Plaine.

The following obituary was read at the service:

Edward W. Brace, son of Dr. Russell and Mary Brace, was born February 28th, 1861, in Marshall county, Iowa, and passed away at his farm home near Hope, May 27, 1937, at the age of 76 years and 3 months. He was united in marriage to Lorella Jane Mooney November 17, 1889. To this union was born five children, one preceding him to the great beyond. He leaves to morn his passing, his wife, Clay S. of McMinnville, Oregon, Mrs. Geo. Thilmony of Hope, Rex. E. of Hope, Mrs. Walter E. Kingsley of Wheatland and two step children, J. A. Rogers of LaBelle, Missouri, Mrs. Alfred Parks of Marshalltown, Iowa. Fifteen grandchildren adn three great grandchildren. Also four brothers, Avery, J. A., Charles, and Calvin, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Congregational church of Hope.

Burial will be in Clemons, Iowa, where he grew to manhood, beside his parents and infant son.

During the years Mr. Brace has made his home in this community he made many friends who found him to be a kindly neighbor and companion. In his passing the family has suffered a real loss and the sincere sympathy of all is extended to them in their bereavement.
