Died, at his home Saturday evening at half past eight, Mr. George C. Walther. Mr. Walther was born in Ansbach, Bavaria, Germany on March 24, 1831, and came to the United States in 1853 and was married to Miss Maria M. Tanner, a native of Switzerland in 1863 at Joliet, Ill. where they remained until 1881, when they came to Nebraska, settled down in York county and in 1885 they moved to this place, where they have resided ever since. They were blessed with eight children who are all alive and mourn the loss of a good and faithful husband and father. Mr. Walthers, as a neighbor and friend, gained a host of friends who feel their loss. The funeral services were held at the home, Rev. Stinnette preaching the funeral sermon. The remains were laid in their place of rest in the Moorefield cemetery.
