John T. Meredith was born in Washington county, Indiana, April 4, 1833 and died at Sumas, Washington May 3, 1911, aged 78 years and 29 days. He was married to Mahala E. Kearns, March 20, 1856. To this union was born three daughters. He came to Nebraska in 1884 and resided here until four years ago when he moved to Washington. The oldest daughter, Mrs. Lyda McBeth is at Sumas, Washington. The youngest daughter resides at Oshkosh, Garden county, Nebraska. His wife preceded him to the spirit world nearly fourteen years ago, and the second daughter also awated his coming in the other land. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at the time of his death.
