Harvey Orlando Rogers

Harvey Orlando Rogers was born June 21, 1878 at Whiteriver, Mich.

In infancy he moved with his parents to Sutton, Nebr., then to Frontier county in 1879 where he grew to manhood.

On February 19, 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Ann Hall, to this union were born one daughter and two sons.

In 1910 he moved to Yuma, Colorado, where he resided until 1917, when he returned and purchased his father’s homestead, where he devoted his time to farming and stock raising.

In later years he also was engaged in the implement, gas and oil business.

He made a large acquaintenance during the many years he lived in the vicinity of Orafino, Nebr.

Ill health made it necessary for him to retire from business cares and seek medical help. In August 1948 he went to visit his daughter living in Denver, Colo., while there he sought the aid o specialist but to no avai, he then returned to no avail, he then returned to Eustis, Nebr. to the home of his son, here on January 22, 1949 he departed this life, at the age of 70 yrs, 7 mo. and 1 day.

Mr. Rogers was a good neighbor, good worker, and looked well to the best interest of his home. He was well liked by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, a daughter, Mrs. Leila Hoy of Denver, Colo., two sons, Paul of Eustis, Nebr. and Everett of Orafino, Nebr., one grandson, Ronald Paul Hoy, one brother, Eric of Rochester, Minn., two sisters preceded him in death, Carrie Wear and Phoebe Bock, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Cambridge, Nebr. January 26, 1949 at 2 p.m. by Rev. H. M. Jones the Pastor.

Interment was made in the Cambridge cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Carl Watkins, Louis Hovey, Lloyd Messersmith, Geo. Shelly all of Stockville; Curtin Arnold, Orafino; and Wm. Phillips, Cambridge.
