Marilyn R. (Sheffield) Jackson
Marilyn R. Jackson, 56, died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Services were held Saturday, January 12, at Blase Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, with the Rev. Steve Berke officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Marilyn was born September 8, 1945, at Eustis, to Wilbur Dale and Helen Grace (Nickerson) Sheffield. She graduated from Farnam High School in 1963. She worked at the Frontier County Courthouse in Stockville until her marriage to Fred William Jackson on August 5, 1965 at Stockville. They moved to Gothenburg in 1966, where she worked at H & R Block for fourteen years. She was later employed by KK Appliance and Hilltop Estates as a secretary. According to family members, she enjoyed camping, cooking, listening to country music, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of God.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred, April 6, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Jody Ostendorf of Kearney; a son, Jeff Jackson of Gothenburg (Tawny Kraus of Cozad): two sister, Detta (Alfred) Holscher of Smithfield and Sharon (Ron) Peterson of Purdum; a brother, Roland (Jan) Sheffield of Farnam; two grandchildren, Andrew and Kayla Ostendorf of Kearney. Marilyn was a special friend of Ron and Charlene Devine of Gothenburg.
Memorials are suggested to Hilltop Estates of Gothenburg.
