GERING — A funeral for Laura R. Day, 92, of 1335 Ninth St., who died Dec. 19, 1988, in a Gering health care facility, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gering Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Frescoln officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery at Gering.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 2, 1896, in Frontier County, to Jacob and Louella (Lydic) Rice. She grew up and received her education in Frontier County. She was a rural school teacher teaching in Frontier, Hayes and Gosper counties. She moved to Gering in 1976.

Surivors include her daughter Mrs. Mary Brehm of Gering; sister Nellie A. Rice of Gothenburg; brother J. L. Rice of Gothenburg; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.
