Mrs. Mary Shaw, 91
Passes Away Monday

Mrs. Mary B. Shaw, 91, widow of a Civil War veteran, died Monday afternoon in the Confer home, 911 East Fifth street, where she had been for the past year. Her condition had been serious for the past five weeks. She had been a resident here for a number of years.

She was born February 9, 1844, in Lexington, Ky. Her husband died several years ago.

Four daughters, Mrs. Clara Fitch and Mrs. Mary Denham, North Platte; Mrs. Mattie Holdeman, Yoder, Wyo.; and Mrs. Sadie Hall, Pinedale, Wyo.; and three sons, John Minot, N. D.; James and Charles of Omaha, survive.

No funeral arrangements have been announced awaiting word from relatives.

Shaw Rites Held


Funeral services for Mrs. Mary B. Shaw, 91, who passed away in this city Tuesday after a lingering illness, were held from Maloney Chapel at 3:30 Thursday afternoon with Rev. F. E. Pfoutz of the M. E. church officiating. During the services Mrs. Robert Rigg sang “Lead Kindly Light” and “Abide With Me,” with Miss Velma Doebke at the organ.

Interment was made in Fort McPherson cemetery with her husband, who passed away eight years ago. Pall bearers were member of the American Legion.
