All our friends and acquaintances in the old and new country I would like to announce that our Father, Michael Albrecht gently passed away on July 26. The deceased was born on 5 August 1824 in Germany and immigrated as still a boy with his parents to South Russia. In 1853 he married Johanna Reuter in Friedenstal, South Russia. He lived there until 1873. He came to America and settled in Columbus in the State of Nebraska. There he lived for seven years and then moved to Hutchinson County, South Dakota. There he stayed for four years and then returned to Nebraska. Here he lived continuously with a brief interruption of a year he spent with his son Andrew in Portland, Oregon. Two and a half years had to be over now slumbering a serious illness. When he got well again, his mind was clouded. He was gradually weaker up to the end. He reached the age of 85 years, 11 months and 20 days. His death was gentle. He leaves behind, besides his wife, five sons named Andreas, Gottlieb, Michael, Johann and Jakob Albrecht. Five children preceded him in death.
