John Thomas Dillin

Thomas Dillin, 92 years of age, died at his home in Gothenburg Tuesday morning. Several years ago, he was a resident of this community, residing in both Lincoln and Frontier counties.

Funeral services will be held at the Catholic church in Gothenburg at 9:30 this (Thursday) morning, following which the body will be brought here for burial in the Catholic cemetery west of town.

Obituary

John Thomas Dillon, youngest son of Jake and Alice Dillin, was born at Chestertown, Maryland, March 15, 1859, and passed away at his home in Gothenburg on July 27, 1948.

At the age of six, he moved with his parents to the state of Virginia where he lived until 1866, when the family moved to Chester, Pennsylvania. In 1891, the family returned to the old home at Chestertown. After the death of his parents he came to Willow Island, Nebr., in 1904, where he made his home with Wm. and Mary Ralston.

September 26, 1906, he was united in marriage to Katherine McClosky. To this union was born one daughter, Margaret Alice. In 1908, they moved to the vicinity of Farnam. His wife passed away January 14, 1933. In 1934, he with his daughter, moved to Gothenburg. He is survived by his daughter and his cousins, the McKee family.

Rosary was recited at 8:00 Wednesday evening at the Chester L. Hugo funeral home. Funeral services were held Thursday at 9:30 am from Our Lady of Good Council church with Rev. Stanley Gerak officiating.

Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at Farnam with Dwight Stebbins, George Murray, Everett Brock, Ed Thomas, Marion Sisson, and Clarence Ragsdale serving as pallbearers.
