FRED WAITS PASSED AWAY
AT LINCOLN LAST SATURDAY


Fred Waits, seventy-five, 2521 J, died at his home at 8:45 p.m. Saturday. He is survived by his wife, Carrie; three daughters, Mrs. Will Bailey, Hamlet; Mrs. Mayme Henderson, Chickasha, Okla., and Mrs. Frank Goetl, Lincoln; three sons, Frank, Farnam; T. R., Curtis, and W. G., North Platte; a brother, Geo., Los Angeles and thirteen grandchildren. The body is at Wadlow’s, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Rev. Victor West officiating. Burial will be at Wyuka.—Lincoln Journal.

OBITUARY

Fred Waits, who passed away September 10, at 8:45 p.m., was born near Oil City, Venango county, Pa., September 28, 1857. Aged, 74 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

He emigrated west in the early years with his parents, brothers and sisters to Illinois. From there they located in Frontier county, Nebraska, in the fall of 1874 and most of his remaining life was spent here.

In 1882 he was united in marriage to Carrie Roback of Howard, Nebraska.

He leaves to mourn his departure, six children, Frank, Ted, Walter, Myrtle, Mayme and Ona, fourteen grandchildren, one brother of Cale, a number of nieces and nephews and a large aura of friends, won by his sterling character and pleasing personality.

During a part of his early pioneering he was employed as a ranch rider near Ft. McPherson and surrounding country in the seventies. After his marriage he farmed until the fall of 1906 when he moved his family to Farnam. He resided here until 1925 when they moved to Lincoln, where he passed away after nearly five years of poor health.
