Mrs. P. J. Ainslie

Mary M. Hurshman daughter of Jess and Elizabeth Hurshman was born November 13, 1872 in Preston County West Virginia. In 1886 she moved with her parents to Farnam, Nebraska. In 1890 she moved to Cherry County, Nebr., and acquired a homestead. On December 11, 1895 she was married to Philemon J. Ainslie at Valentine, Nebraska. To this union 12 children were born, 3 of which preceded her in death, Alice, Margarette and William. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Philemon J. Ainslie and children Jess, Dan, Walter of Hay Springs, Mary Laue of Rushville, Katherine Andrews of Cody, Nebraska, Mabel Prahl of Murdo, S. D., and Charles of Kadoka, S. D., Dell of Ceres, Calif., and John of Basin, Wyo. One brother William A. Hurshman of Independence, Mo., 39 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She passed away at Modesto, California, December 5, 1949 at the age of 77 years and 22 days. Most of her life was spent in Nebraska with the exception of 9 years in Idaho and six years in South Dakota. In May of this year she went to California, where she resided until death. She was a kind and loving mother, who always set a find example for her children to follow.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:00. The Rev. D. E. Springer officiating. Burial was made in the Hay Springs cemetery.
