Bernice Schnitzer, 73, of 220 S. Oak died Tuesday in a North Platte Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 10, 1910 in Farnam. She attended schools in Farnam and the Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney. She taught school in the Farnam area for several years before marrying Jerome Schnitzer Oct. 4, 1947 in Grand Island.

She and her husband moved to North Platte after they were married where they resided ever since. She was a member of the Farnam United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge in Farnam. She and her husband belonged to the UP Oldtimers Club.

She is survived by her husband Jerome (Jerry); one brother Russell Wilcox of Farnam; and several neices and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Adams and Swanson Chapel with Rev. Karl Lent, of the Farnam United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Fort McPherson Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name.

Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
