George R. Davidson

George Robbin Davidson was born in Madison County, Illinois, November 27, 1864 and passed away at his home in Lexington, Nebraska on May 10, 1937 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 13 days. He was a member of a family of nine children of which six, four sisters and two brothers, preceded him in death.

From his boyhood home in Illinois he moved with his parents to Lincoln, Nebr., in 1885 where they resided for about two years. They then moved to Holbrook, Nebraska, where, on October 21, 1894, he was united in marriage to Minnie E. Blanchard. For several years Mr. and Mrs. Davidson made their home on a farm near Holbrook where the two sons and oldest daughter were born. In 1901 they moved to a ranch near Ingham, Nebr., where the second daughter was born. One year later they took a homestead about four and one-half miles southwest of Farnam, where they resided until 1934 when they moved to Lexington, where he lived until the time of his death.

Those surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Minnie E. Davidson; four children: C. E., of Gothenburg; William, of Hastings; Lucy, of Lexington and Mrs. Mabel Knoedler, Saginaw, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. George Swayze, Holbrook and Mrs. Addie Huddleston, Lincoln; four grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services was conduted in the Emerson funeral home at Lexington, Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Miller cemetery near Holbrook, Nebr. Rev. F. H. Stephenson, pastor of the Lexington Christian church, officiating.
