Mrs. Bessie L. Stevenson, 81, died at 4:25 a.m. today at her home, 2358 North Main, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Stevenson, a resident of Springfield for the past 11 years, was a member of the Mennonite church. She was the widow of Fred Stevenson.

Surviving are two sons, Vivian of Hutchinson, Kan., and L. Meade Stevenson of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Miss Freda G. Stevenson of 1335 North Broadway, Miss Zona G. Stevenson of the home and Mrs. Iola F. Loftis, also of the home; two brothers, J. K. Lydic of Fordland and R. J. Lydic of Farnam, Neb.; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Ross of Los Angeles; and eight grandchildren.

Herman Lohmeyer is in charge of funeral arrangements.
