Julia Violet DeLate Hill was born on March 5, 1892 to John and Eliza DeLate near Stockville, Nebraska. She was the sixth child of eleven children.

On January 14, 1914 she was united in marriage to Albert Hill at Moorefield, Nebraska. They lived on a farm north of Moorefield then moved to a farm south of Maxwell, Nebraska. In 1922 they returned to the farm at Moorefield where they have since resided.

To this union was born one son.

On August 15, 1964, after a lingering illness, Mrs. Hill passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital at North Platte at the age of 72 years 5 months and 10 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Albert, her son Rollin of Curtis, four grandsons of Curtis. Three sisters, Elma Waits of Long Beach, Calif., Clara Nall of Wichita, Kan., Bernice Swanson of Moorefield. Numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Services were held Monday August 17, 1964 at 2 p.m. at the Union Church in Moorefield with the Rev. Clyde White officiating. Burial was in the Moorefield cemetery. Wetzel Service in charge of arrangements.
