Death of Emma Gewecke April 2nd
Emma E. Gewecke was born on July 11, 1903, at Farnam, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patterson. She passed away Saturday, April 2, at North Platte.
Emma graduated from the Farnam High School and taught for several years in a rural school south of Farnam. She was united in marriage at Norton, Kansas on March 21, 1925 to Edgar Gewecke. For the next 21 years they resided on a farm near Farnam. In 1946 the family moved to Gothenburg where they lived for the next 30 years. During this time on March 23, 1975, the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Due to Mrs. Gewecke’s health the couple moved to Autumn Park in North Platte.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar and one daughter, Elaine Gloe McKim of North Platte and three grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday morning at McVay Memorial Chapel with Rev. Hugh H. Houchin and Rev. Melvin Brown officiating. Music was by Rev. and Mrs. Melvin Brown and Mrs. Dale Bersley.
Casket bearers were Larry McKim, Delevon Patterson, Albert Patterson, Ernest Van Wey, Aimie Guerin and Raymond Smith.
Interment was in Gothenburg Cemetery.
