A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, in Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel for Hazel M. Staples, who died Feb. 20, at age 76.

Mrs. Staples was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Moorefield, Neb. Her maiden name was Smallfoot. She was raised in Farnam, Neb., moving to Cathlamet, Wash., in 1940 and to Damascus in 1943. She worked at the Jantzen Knitting Mill from 1959 to 1986. She moved to Milwaukie in the 1970s.

Survivors include her sons, Larry F. of Lake Oswego, Dennis M. of Molalla, Dwaynee H. of Clackamas and Marvin R. of Aberdeen, Wash.; daughter, Yvonne M. Sudul of Clackamas; brothers, Floyd Smallfoot of Gresham and Orville Smallfoot of Los Angeles; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to the Kidney Association of Oregon.
