Funeral services for George B. Johnson, 84, of Edmond are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene in Edmond. Interment will follow at Waterloo Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.

Johnson was born August 17, 1923, in Farnam, Neb. He died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in Edmond.

Johnson was in the United States Army from March 1941 to the end of World War II. He worked as a salesman for Sears while in Bible College. He pastored churches in several states and cities, including Edmond, from 1954 to 2003.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Anderson) Johnson; his parents, George F. Johnson and Silvia (Brott) Johnson; three sisters, Maude, Viola and Edna and five brothers, Francis, Marion, Walter, Edward and Lewis.

Survivors include his three sons, Ken Johnson of Edmond; Don Johnson of Allen, Texas; and Allen Johnson of Sanford, Fla.; his three daughters, Shirley Heitz of Big Lake, Minn.; Colleen Wolstenholm of Denver, Colo.; and Diane Roth of Baxter, Minn.; his sister, Norene Zink of Mitchell, Neb.; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
