Obituary Collection
Rites Held for
Raymond Oman

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, April 10th, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Eustis for Raymond L. Oman, who departed this life on April 6, 1962 at Omaha, Nebraska. Rev. Clarence Buehler of Gothenburg and Rev. Donald Miller conducted the services.

Music was furnished by soloist, Mr. William Nelson of Kearney, accompanied by Mrs. William Nelson. Hymn selections were “Sometime We’ll Understand” and “Beyond the Sunset.”

Pallbearers were Vern Bartruff, William Greenough, Kenneth Oman, Everett Oman, Bernard Schutz, and K. A. Wieble. Interment was in the Eustis Cemetery.

Raymond L. Oman

Raymond L. Oman was born to Albert and Eva Oman near Brady, Nebraska April 28, 1917.

He spent most of his childhood and youth in the Farnam community where he was graduated from High School. As a youth he united with the Baptist church of Farnam.

On April 4th, 1937 he was united in marriage to Loree Klingman at Oberlin, Kansas. To this union four children were born.

Ray traveled extensively in his sales work and the family lived in several different communities. For the past ten years he was employed by the International Milling Co.

He departed this life April 6, 1962 at Omaha, Nebraska after several years of fighting a progessive respiratory illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his one sister, Ethel.

Ray is survived by his wife, Loree, his sons, Robert and Richard of Gothenburg, David of Omaha, and his daughter, Sheryl also at home in Omaha. He took great delight in his four grandchildren, Michele, Scott, Michael adn Sheila.

He also leaves one brother, Rex, of North Platte, and one niece, Deborah Sue, besides other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
