Obituary Collection
Mrs. Bert Craft

Kate Lee Clement was born near Humboldt, Nebraska, December 11, 1892 and died in a hospital in Ord Thursday night, April 7, 1921, aged twenty eight years, three months and twenty seven days.

She was in our village the Monday before her death and seemed in her usual health. A short time after her return home she was taken with very severe pains—a doctor was called and she was taken the next day to an Ord hospital. Thursday an operation was performed and then it was found she was past all human help—that it was but a matter of a short time before the death angel would visit her bedside.

February 14, 1912, she was united in marriage with Bert Craft at Farnam, to which place her family had moved. To Mr. and Mrs. Craft were born five children, who, together with the grief stricken husband and father her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Clement, six brothers and two sisters, numerous relatives and friends, are left to mourn the early death of this devoted wife and mother.

It is indeed sad that the children must be bereft of a mother’s care, that she could not be with them to watch them grow to manhood and womanhood, to a life of usefulness, but such are the ways of a wise providence who doeth all things well.

Funeral services were held at the family home on Davis Creek, Saturday afternoon conducted by pastor E. A. Wells of the Friends church and the body was buried in the North Loup cemetery.

The Loyalist unites in sympathy for the lonely home that so much needs the loving care of a mother.
