Lily E. Oman
Lily E. Oman, 98, 109 North Buffalo, died Thursday in a local nursing home. She was born July 8, 1881, at Galesburg, Ill. She was a former longtime resident of the Gothenburg and Farnam communities. She graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1899, and at the time of her death she was the oldest living graduate.
Mrs. Oman had made her home in North Platte with her daughter and son-in-law since 1959. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and at the time of her death was the oldest living member. She was a 50-year member of the Signet No. 55 Order of the Eastern Star and the Sarah Rebekah Lodge No. 10 and a past Nobel Grand.
Survivors include one daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Jack) Dunkin of North Platte; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Adams and Swanson Chapel with the Rev. John Schmidt of the First United Presbyterian Church officiating. The casket will not be opened following the service. Burial will be in Gothenburg cemetery.
