Everett Bailey Dies of Heart Trouble
Everett John Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Bailey, was born in Frontier county, Jan. 10, 1894, and died at the place of his birth southwest of Farnam. March 12, 1936, aged 42 years, 2 months and 2 days.
He was married June 3, 1930, to Miss Sylvia Baker at McCook, Nebr. To this union was born a son, Bruce Lowell, age four, and an infant daughter, born March 2, of this year.
He leaves, besides his wife and children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James T. Bailey of this community, one brother, G. W. Bailey of Callaway, and three sisters, Mrs. Warren R. Oliver and Mrs. A. G. Williams, both of Lincoln, and Mrs. George C. Cole of Stockville.
Everett was a sufferer for many years, at times being greatly improved in health, but for the most part he has been frail. He was fond of athletics and out door sports and when able engaged in them. In later years he enjoyed them as they were brought to him by the radio, the newspaper and his friends. He was gentle, loving and kind, and by these values he made friends where-ever he was. He was honest and ambitious, appreciating the finer things of life and asking no special favors nor privileges of life because of his frailness. He was the idol of his families [sic.] hearts, who have appreciated his struggle to live and be cheerful. In his last illness his concern was all for his wife who is still very ill at the family home.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday at 2:00 p. m. conducted by the Rev. Lauren Messersmith. Pall bearers were his boyhood friends who have been so good to him and helped make his life brighter. Burial was made in the Stockville cemetery.
