Mrs. Mae Hicks, 75, of 815 W. Seventh died Wednesday morning in a Lincoln hospital after a short illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home with Rev. L. Paul Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation hours are Friday until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hicks was born July 25, 1899, to John and Ellen McPheters Gardner at Farnam.

She married Opie Hicks Feb. 16, 1923, at Stockville. They lived in Farnam until 1942. Mrs. Hicks was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mabel Hicks of Lincoln, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Dedmore of North Platte and Mrs. Mazie Brown of Filer, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and one sister.
