OBITUARY OF ALLIE H. HICKS

Allie H. Hicks was born at Jonesboro, Tenn., March 2, 1898, and passed away after a brief illness at Ukiah, Calif., Sept. 21, 1939, at the age of 41 years, 6 months and 19 days. He became sick from blood poisoning and soon after was taken to a hospital in a critical condition. Lock jaw set in and all that medical aid and loving care could do was to no avail and he passed away within a week from the time he became ill.

He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hicks of Craig, Missouri. The family moved to Farnam February 1905 where he grew to manhood and attended the Farnam schools, later attending the Hastings business college.

He was married to Blythe Hinkley, of Farnam, June 14, 1922. Two children were born to this union, Betty Blythe, 15, and John Wm., 12.

Mr. and Mrs. Hicks and children moved to California about 11 years ago, and have made their home at Ukiah the past few years.

Mr. Hicks joined the church of his wife’s faith and became a steadfast worker, with his family, in the Episcopal church. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be sadly missed from the home.

Besides his wife and two children he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hicks, of Craig, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. C. E. Davidson, of Gothenburg, and Mrs. W. I. Hines, of Craig, Mo.; and two brothers, Opie, of Farnam, and James, of Craig, Mo., and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Episcopal church Tuesday, Sept. 26, and burial was made in the Ukiah cemetery.
