Services For
Robert H. Hecox
Held Monday

Robert H. Hecox, young south side farmer, passed away on Friday at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He would have been 43 years of age on Sept. 10th.

Robert Hecox was born in Gothenburg, Nebraska, September 10, 1918. He was the youngest child of Albert and Helen Hecox and had lived all his life in the Banner community. At the time of his death, he was living on the place where he was born, that was homesteaded by his grandfather.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Brugger on October 7, 1941 at Farnam, Nebraska. To this union were born two children, Linda and Albert Charles II.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Hecox in 1955.

Bob, as he was known by all, was a devoted father, patient and understanding. He had the respect of everyone and his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of his loved ones and friends.

Bob was a successful farmer and cattleman and took great pride in his livestock. He was a man of honorand integrity and his counsel and advice were sought by many.

He was a loyal member of the Banner Methodist Church, a past director of the Dawson County Extension Board, Dawson County Feeders Association, T-Bone Club, and a member of the Gothenburg Golf Club.

He left to mourn his passing on Friday, August 11, 1961, his wife, Phyllis, one daughter, Linda and his son, Albert Charles II; his mother, Mrs. Albert Hecox, one sister, Mildred Anderson of Eads, Colo.; one brother, Walter of Gothenburg; his aunt, Mrs. Lulu Young, an uncle, Ralph Hecox of Gothenburg, an uncle, Dr. Rex Hecox of Cozad, three nieces, one nephew and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Banner Methodist Church, Monday, August 2:00 p.m., with Rev. James Lane officiating. Bernard Ristine was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Clifford Geiken. Honorary pallbearers were Earl VanSteenberg, Ben Wilson, Max Turnquist, Harry Discoe, Ray Stickelman, Robert Beatty, Ray Wiggins, Cletus Bode, Thorvall Anderson, Conrad Bauer, Roy Stickelman, Harold Stevens, Nelson Curry and Ivan Wiggins. Pallbearers were Arch Trimble, Alvin Bringelson, Kenneth Oman, Glenn Hyde, Billy Cline and Virge Stebbins, Jr. Interment was in the Peckham cemetery.
