Lee O. Dowers, superintendent of the Farnam School some twenty-six years ago, died at Kearney on December at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 12 days.

He was born in Stromsburg and spent his early childhood there, later residing in Kansas where he attended school. He also attended the Peru and Karney state teachers colleges, after which he taught school 18 years, including four or five years in Farnam. During the past nineteen years he has resided at Kearney where he was engaged in business.

Mr. Dowers had been in failing health for the past six months and seriously ill the past month. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife; two sons, Stanton and Verne of Kearney; one sister and one brother.
