Train Accident
Takes Life of
Herman Thomsen

This community was shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Herman Thomsen. The tragedy occured Monday afternoon at the Ingham railroad crossing when a freight train struck the pickup apparently throwing him from the vehicle and into the path of the train. Several rail cars passed before the engine was stopped.

Mr. Thomsen was traveling south and was hit by a west bound train. He was killed instantly.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomsen celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary two years ago. They have lived in the Farnam community most of their married life. He was 79 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Mable, two sons, Vernon of Sutherland and Wayne, at home, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 pm in the Farnam Methodist Church with Rev. Quincey Murphee officiating. Interment 3:30 in the Fredricksburg Cemetery at Minden with Rev. B. H. Hart officiating.
