Robert Schnackenberg

GOTHENBURG — Robert “Bob” Schnackenberg, 61, of Gothenburg died April 6, 1993, at the Gothenburg hospital.

He was born May 3, 1931, at North Platte to Edward and Margaret Ostendorf Schnackenberg. He graduated from Farnam High School in 1948 and lived in the Farnam-Gothenburg area his entire life.

Mr. Schnackenberg married Mary Juel, Jan. 9, 1956, at Ogallala.

He was employed at Lepp and Osterloh for the past 13 years, serving as vice president of the company.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1952-1954, was a member of the American Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post 64, and was a past member of the school board of district 32.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Gothenburg; three sons, Ed (Debra) of Omaha, Matt (Donna) of Gothenburg and Tim (Kris) of Chadron; two daughters, Sue (Glenn) Finke of Gothenburg, and Pauline Medley of Gothenburg; one brother, Bill, of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Etlicher of Barrow, Wisc., and Irene Viter of Gothenburg; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg with Rev. Lynn Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Gothenburg Rescue Unit. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the McVay Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
