Louise (Gewecke) Teel
Louise Mary Gewecke, [daughter of Friedrich Adolf and Lizzie (Barchfeldt) Gewecke] was born January 10, 1887 at Bruning, Nebraska. She departed this life June 15, 1945 at her home in Portland, Oregon, at the age of fifty-eight years, five months, and five days.
At the age of eighteen, she gave her heart to God and was a sincere Christian until her death. For several years she was a member of the Methodist Church at Farnam, then later united with the Nazarene Church, of which she was a member at Portland at the time of her death.
December 4, 1907, she was united in marriage with Benonia F. Teel, to which union four children were born. Until going to Portland in 1938, they resided on their farm northwest of Farnam.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Hobbs of Beavercreek, Oregon; Leona Teel of Norman, Oklahoma; Pauline Ebert of Portland; and one son, John, also of Portland; two brothers [Oscar K. and Henry "Hank"], five sisters Elizabeth Reynolds; Ella Kister; Clara Wyckoff-Clement; Rose Dawson; Ann Rodham], and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 19th in the chapel of the Mt. Scott Funeral Home with Rev. Fletcher Galloway officiating. Interment was made in Lincoln Memorial Park.
