Ray Blackwood
Funeral Rites Wed.

Ray P. Blackwood, a long time business man of Farnam, passed away in the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island, after suffering a heart attack March 15.

He came to Farnam when he was about 20 years of age and had lived here most of his later life.

Ray was an active member of this community. All civic activities were of his best interest. He was a member of the Farnam Lions Club, of which he was secretary, and the American Legion Post 288.

He had been a partner in the Parker and Blackwood plumbing and well drilling business for the last 15 years, before that he worked in a garage with Burr Parker.

He is survived by his wife, May, two brothers, Andrew of Denver, and Floyd of San Jose, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Margarette Shelley of Winter Park, Colo., plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the McVay Funeral chapel in Gothenburg. Interment was in the Fort McPherson National cemetery. American Legion Post 288 was in charge of the grave side service.
