William Walter Thomas of Granbury, retired from the U.S. Air Force, died Sunday, April 1, 2001 in Fort Worth. He was 66.

Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 23, 1935 in Odessa, Neb. He married Patsy Griffene Murphy Sept. 23, 1983 in Granbury. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the VFW in Granbury.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy G. Thomas of Granbury; two sons, Anthony Thomas of North Platte, Neb., and Timothy Thomas of Dallas; one daughter, Beth Ellen Fisher of Brady, Neb.; two stepsons, Gary Benningfield and Rickie Benningfield, both of Granbury; one stepdaughter, Kathy Whisenant of Stephenville; one sister, Geri Johnson of Farnam, Neb.; and 14 grandchildren.

Memorial services are Friday, April 6, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Martin’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Falls officiating. Martin’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
