Service for
Robert L. Craig
Held At Brady

Robert Lee Craig, son of Wm. G. L. Craig and Sarah Edwards, was born in Joplin, Jasper county, Missouri, March 2, 1874, and passed away in Gothenburg, Nebraska, June 6, 1961, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 4 days.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by another brother, L. C. “Dick” Craig, of Farnam.

He moved to Nebraska from Missouri with his parents in 1885 and later homesteaded in Lincoln county south of Brady in 1897. He married Edith Charlotte Carlson on April 10, 1902. From this union were born five sons: Milton A., Robert L., Jr., and Dale L., all of Brady, Milo W., of Kimberly, Idaho, and Harold W. of Fort Morgan, Colorado; two daughters, Faye E. Harwick of Curtis, and Blanche I. Osborne of Birmingham, Alabama, all of whom survive him with their mother. In addition, he is survived by 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He lived with his family on his homestead until 1935, moving to a farm about 6 miles south of Brady from which he retired in 1947. He and Mrs. Craig then moved to Brady, where they have since made their home.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Brady, with the Rev. James Lane officiating.

Mrs. Delores Nickerson and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar, accompanied by Mrs. John Wasley provided the music. Pallbearers were Oscar Anderson, Victor Fattig, Charles Lindekugel, Harlan Liljestrand, Franklin Oman, and Ernest Bailey. Burial was in the Craig Family Plot in the Gaslin Cemetery with the McVay-Olesen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
