Stella Myrtle Snodgrass was born December 11, 1882, at Homewood, Kansas, and apssed away in Farnam September 5, 1950, aged 67 years, 8 months and 25 days.

She moved with her parents to Stockville, Nebraska, when a small child, then to Curtis where she grew to young womanhood.

She was married to LaVern E. Spencer December 19, 1900. Six children were born to this union, one preceding her in death. Those left to mourn her passing are: her husband and children, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Davis of Nampa, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Goodrich of Atchison, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Emeril Cox of Lomita, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Everett Spencer of Keota, Colorado, and Dale Spencer of Nampa. Also one brother, Frank Snodgrass of Adams, seven grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a host of friends.

She was a faithful and loving wife and mother always seeking God’s best for her family. As a neighbor she was never too busy to assist in sickness or in any other way.

She was converted in 1905 and joined the Free Methodist church near Curtis, later joining the Nazarene church there. They moved to Farnam in 1915 where she was a charter member of the church and was a faithful and loyal member, serving in many of the offices, including 17 years a superintendent of the Sunday school. She was treasurer of the missionary society at the time of her death. Her service and devotion to her family, church and community has been greathly appreciated and she will be missed but her life will live in the memory of those who knew her.

The funeral service was conducted at the local Nazarene church Sunday afternoon, with Rev. T. B. Gray of Crawford and Rev. Noble V. Hunt, local pastor, officiating.

A quartet composed of David Banks, Elsie Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pollard accompanied by Virginia Rice sang ‘The Eastern Gate’, ‘There’s No Disappointment in Heaven’ and ‘I’d Rather Have Jesus.’

Pallbearers were Harold Lehman, Paul Sukraw, Jay Rice, John, Clarence and Lawrence Oberg.

Interment in Curtis cemetery.
